In 2005, in the heart of Ridgewood, Mediterraneo was created out of passion and desire to explore and share the exciting opportunities of the truly Mediterranean cooking, from the shores of Southern Europe to the coast of North Africa. It was the first of its kind and, a decade later is still the leader in this style of cuisine, transporting diners through a true culinary and cultural journey through the cobblestone backstreets of the ancient historical neighborhoods of the Mediterranean region, delivering Mediterranean gastronomic experiences beyond expectation. It’s the style, ingredients and flavoring that sets it apart from any other.

At Mediterraneo, we carefully and without compromise choose each ingredient for its authenticity, quality, and freshness. It is our passionate objective to discover the culinary stories, tastes, and joy offered throughout the Mediterranean region, and make them available to food connoisseurs and adventurists of Bergen County and beyond.

While we spend a great deal of time honoring and reconstructing traditional Mediterranean flavor combinations, we are also inspired by modern techniques and culinary creativity.
